学生 Studying At 茎港

The 茎港 is a study area for students registered in STEM courses, 干专业, or students interested in exploring 干专业 和 careers. 茎港 is located in Science 和 Mathematics Building (SCI) 223.

The 茎港 is a community for small group study sessions 和 meetings with 干教师 和 Navigators during scheduled or drop-in hours. 茎港 intentionally centers student engagement, 保留, 和 course success 和 cultivates the intrinsic capabilities 和 assets historically marginalized students bring to STEM. 我们的支持, 文化上的通知, 和 affirming STEM Success Team is committed to ensuring equitable academic, 转移, 和 career outcomes for Latine/a/o 和 historically marginalized STEM students.

STEM港目标: 

  1. Engage students in a STEM community that centers culturally inclusive messaging 和 contributes to students’ sense of belonging 和 sense of academic self-concept. 
  2. Develop access to resources like tutoring 和 faculty office hours to support course success 和 increase degree completion 和 转移. 

 

茎港 Objectives: 

  1.  Improve campus-wide fall-to-fall 保留 (baseline: 58.2%; target: 62%) 和 STEM program of study students (baseline: 60.5%; target: 65%).
  2.  Increase STEM program course success rate (baseline: 77%; target: 82%).
  3.  Increase STEM student completion of 转移-level math in the first year (baseline: 37%; target: 45%).
  4. Decrease STEM program of study median time to completion (in years) (baseline: 3.5、目标:3).
  5. Decrease units attempted by STEM program degree completers from 94 units to 85 units (baseline: 94; target: 85).
  6. Increase CSU 转移s by 20% (baseline: 928; target 1,115); maintain Latine student representation at 63% of CSU 转移s.
  7. Increase students' resourcefulness.
  8. Increase students’ career/转移 self-concept.
